At the present, IOI Corporation successfully establishes penetrate market with better quality of palm, with yield per hectare of much higher than its rivals in the year 2008– 28.54 per mature hectare (tonne) compared to Sime Darby’s 21.7 and Boustead’s 17.5. Besides, IOI Corporation maximize outputs from their plantations and factories while minimizing the inputs required using an efficient and effective plantation management program. The efficient use of land translates into lower fertilizer, pesticide and energy usage as well as benefits for the environment. IOI Corporation had successfully expansion into Indonesia is through the acquisitions of interest in oil palm estates in Kalimantan. This strategy seem IOI Corporation already success penetrate market with better quality of palm compare to other competitor.

Joint venture with other companies

​

In year 2007, IOI Corporation already formed a joint venture (JV) with German metallic stearates producer Peter Greven Fett-Chemie. The new company, called Peter Greven Asia, will produce, market and distribute metallic stearates in Asia-Pacific. IOI owns 40% of the company, which will be based in Penang, Malaysia. IOI currently manufactures metal stearates and fatty esters in Malaysia through its subsidiaries. The profit achieve $35.6m last year.  IOI's total revenue for the nine months ended March 31 reported a 44% increase to $1.87bn year-on-year, mostly attributed to higher palm oil prices and increased operating profits from IOI's manufacturing businesses. This all is because IOI Corporation can access to greater resources, access to new markets and distribution networks, increased capacity and sharing the risks.

Reduce the number of the high emission project

One of the example is its financial blunders is IOI’s lack of prudence in its asset acquisition. A case in point is its recent move to acquire Menara Citibank in Kuala Lumpur for RM586.7 million through the purchase of Inverfin Sdn.Bhd. The fact that IOI did not make a full and fair explanation on this cancellation of plans indicates a lack of integrity on the part of its board of directors. What was once viewed as a strategic move earlier has now become an embarrassing liability. Therefore, IOI corporation request was made because IOI properties’ share price had fared badly in the year 2008. After the failed asset acquisition, IOI Corporation now more concern on high fund involvement project.
